WATERFALL HIKE
The Engare Sero river waterfall is a 30-45 minute walk from the campsite. A local guide is required to lead the way, following the river up the gorge, crossing back and forth several times. Leaving behind the arid steppes, you will find yourself in an oasis of waterfalls and palm trees. This is truly a remnant of paradise.
VISIT THE HOT SPRINGS
Take a trip out to the hot springs, enjoying the scenery of Lake Natron along the way, and find yourself at a secluded paradise. The mineral waters of these hot springs are like a relaxing spa treatment. Interestingly the springs are filled with small cichlid fish who have adapted to the warm temperatures of the springs.

VISIT LAKE NATRON
Lake Natron lies in the Rift Valley of Northern Tanzania bordered by the Rift Valley escarpment, volcanoes: Ol Doinyo Gelai and Ol Doinyo Lengai, and the Kenya border. Home to a number of shore birds, it is the breeding ground of the Lesser Flamingo. Named after the high content of sodium carbonate decahydrate (natron), it’s high alkalinity can be caustic to animal life not adapted to it. As there is no outlet for the lake, the size varies by the seasonal rainfall. High rainfall expands the lake to approximately 35 miles in length by 14 miles in width with a depth of less than 10 feet. A number of hot springs feed into the lake, home to the tiny alkaline tilapia fish. Access to the Lake from World View Campsite is a short drive by Land Rover or an arranged hike by the local Maasai guides.

Great RIFT VALLEY
ESCARPMENT TREK
Looking for an Alternative to Hiking Oldonyo Lengai?
If you're seeking a rewarding substitute for the Oldonyo Lengai hike, trekking to the Great Rift Valley Escarpment is the perfect option. This scenic trek offers breathtaking views of the entire Engaresero village from above, making it a memorable experience
for nature lovers and photographers alike.
Guided by friendly local experts, you'll enjoy stunning sunrise views, along with a refreshing cup of coffee or tea en route. It’s a peaceful adventure that combines natural beauty with cultural connection. This trek is also ideal for time limited guests who want to experience the best views of Lake Natron and the surrounding landscape without the demanding climb of Lengai.
CLIMB OLDOINYO LENGAI
Climbing Oldoinyo Lengai. also known as the "mountain of God" in Maasai, is not a small feat, but if you are looking for adventure and a challenge this may be the climb for you. Oldoinyo Lengai is an active volcano! A guide is required for the hike which can take 6-11 hours to complete.

SEE THE FOOTPRINTS
About a 15 minute Land Rover drive from the campsite will bring you to reportedly the oldest human footprints preserved in the volcanic ash near Lake Natron. These footprints were discovered by a local Maasai herder in 2006. In 2009, a scientific research team was organized to investigate these ancient human trails and noted that they may be dated around 120,000 years ago making them the oldest known human traces of pedal passage.

UNIQUE CYCLING EXPERIENCE AROUND LAKE NATRON
Cycling along the lake shore and surrounding areas offers guests a closer connection to nature than traveling by vehicle. Our fat-tire bicycles are specially designed to ride comfortably on the soft
sandy soils of Lake Natron, making them ideal for exploring the landscape at your own pace.
This activity is especially helpful for both solo and group travelers who arrive by public transportation, offering a comfortable and
flexible way to move around. However, it’s a great experience for anyone looking to explore the area by bike.
We offer a special guided ride from our campsite to a natural pool on the eastern side of the lake. Guests have the opportunity to spend the night by the pool and enjoy a relaxing natural foot
massage from the small fish that live in the water.
This unique activity is available not only for guests staying at our campsite, but also for visitors from nearby camps and lodges. It's one of the few cycling experiences of its kind in the Lake Natron
area, offering both adventure and relaxation.
